Monroe County has a Covid-19 Testing Site set up at the National Guard Armory, 3380 S. Walnut Street in Bloomington. Hours are M/F 8am-8pm. You must register and make an appointment but generally you can be seen the same day and sometimes within the hour of registering. Dear beloved members;
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Because of continuing local and national Covid-19 transmission, Monroe County will follow the Governor’s Executive Order 20-48 but with added restrictions under each color level. The change went into effect at noon 11/18/2020.
The executive order includes some exemptions for religious organizations however in the best interest of the health and safety of the membership, Second Baptist will not take advantage of the exemptions. Effective Monday, 11/23/2020, Second Baptist will follow the recommendations of the Monroe County Health Department and Govern Holcomb’s executive order 20-48. Beginning 11/29/2020, live streaming will be our primary platform for worship service, with in person attendance not to exceed 25. In addition to 14 members essential* to the production of the service, no more than 11 other members may attend in person. Members interested in attending the service in person on 11/29/2020 must RSVP before noon Wednesday 11/26/2020. Thereafter, members wanting to attend in person must RSVP before noon each Friday for the upcoming Sunday service.

3 AV Ministry Team members (rotation to be determined by Bro. Geoff Bradley)
5 Music Ministry Team members (Rotation to be determined by Bro. Alonza Lawrence)
1 Usher (rotation to be determined by Sis. Doris Sims)
1 Custodian (Sis Maria to arrange coverage if she is not available)
Bible Study and Trustee Meetings will be hosted on Zoom only. There will be no in person options until further notice.
All other current COVID-19 procedures will remain in place and include:
The annex double doors on 8th St. is the ONLY entrance open to the church.
Upon entrance, a non-touch temperature reading will be taken; A temperature reading
below 100.4 is required for admission.
Facemasks are required and MUST be worn throughout the worship service. A
face mask will be provided if needed.
The water fountain in the annex lobby will remain off
Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and in the restrooms.
Disposable gloves are NOT required but will be available if desired
Pew seating in the sanctuary is marked for distance compliance and will be sanitized after each service.
High touch items are removed from the pews (hymnals, offering envelopes, ink pens etc.). Ushers will provide envelopes and Pens on request.
Tithes & Offering via PayPal will continue to be available from the church website
